Raspberry plants are a semi self-supporting bramble but generally grow better against a fence or in between a trellis. They can be planted in the ground or in a pot of at least 24L or bigger and prefer a well draining, slightly acidic, loamy soil with lots of well decomposed organic matter. They require frequent watering and full sun but will tolerate part shade and generally require feeding once a month during their growing season with a balanced, good quality fertiliser.
Raspberry plants are self-pollinating but will produce better fruit quantity & quality if there are at least 2 plants to allow cross pollinating and it is worth noting that fruit is only produced on second year growth canes. These plants are summer bearing and produce a single crop during the summer season.
Raspberries are plump, juicy fruit which are suitable for jams, deserts and smoothies. The fruit also freezes well.
Currently our plants are approximately 10cm tall and supplied in 3L bags.
