Gem squash produce vines reaching up to 1.5m in length and can be trained to climb a vertical trellis although the heavy fruit will need to be supported. Each plant usually averages 5 to 6 squash.

Plant in well composted soil that drains well. Feed throughout the growing season with a good quality fertiliser that is high in potassium.

Gem squash should be ready to harvest within 75 to 90 days.
